There're multiple cases of this in both Greek and Norse. Even if Kratos lost his Godhood after the end of GoW3, by the time GoW2018 start, he's no doubt a god. Yeah, this is pretty confusing. In the beginning of God of War 1, Kratos was just a really powerful demigod, except we didn't know he was a demigod yet. I have often seen people say GOW 2018/ragnarok kratos is stronger than GOW 3 kratos. However I am a bit confused because in GOW 3 kratos was wielding hope which made him much stronger. It was the main reason he could fight gods like Ares and Zeus and he lost the power of hope at the end of GOW 3 to give it to humans. I know this is old but I need to educate some people. Larger muscles mean nothing. Raw strength is about muscle density, not size. While the physique of the God Of War 3 Kratos is possibly attainable with elite genetics(and PEDs), at the height of Kratos it would not be realistically possible to get those proportions. There was already a disonnance in the power between gameplay Kratos and QTE Kratos. The Norse game kicks this up to 11. Yes, what we're seeing is a more restrained Kratos.but Kratos is a God of Fucking War and clearly doesn't mind killing. He can toss some Draugr.
